Your dentist begins by administering a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable during your visit. Next, all areas of decayed tooth tissue are removed until a layer of healthy tissue is revealed. 

The cleared cavity is carefully cleaned to remove all traces of bacteria and debris. The composite resin is prepared and then applied within the cleared cavity, where it bonds with your tooth tissue. Once the material hardens, it is virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
